In a late-night meeting held at the Devagiri residence, senior NCP leaders finalized Sunetra Pawar’s nomination. She promptly filed her application at Vidhan Bhavan and was elected unopposed, as no other candidates applied for the Rajya Sabha seat.

Expressing her gratitude, Sunetra Pawar thanked NCP’s national president Ajit Pawar and other party leaders for their support, stating, “The party has officially nominated me today. I am thankful for the faith they have shown in me.”

There were talks about Chhagan Bhujbal, along with Partha Pawar, Anand Paranjpe, and Baba Siddiqui, vying for the Rajya Sabha seat. However, with Sunetra Pawar’s nomination, rumours of Bhujbal’s dissatisfaction surfaced. Addressing these rumours, Sunetra Pawar stated, “I have not seen any displeasure regarding my candidature. Bhujbal was present while I filed the form and has also wished me well.”, she said.

Ajit Pawar group leader Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare, Chhagan Bhujbal, and MLA Narhari Jirwal were present during Sunetra Pawar’s application submission. Notably, no other leaders from the ruling grand alliance were present, sparking discussions about Ajit Pawar’s solitary stance within the grand alliance.
