Sunil Jain joined as Insurance Ombudsman, Pune
Sunil Jain, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (1986 batch) officer, has joined as Insurance Ombudsman (Bima Lokpal), Pune. The jurisdiction of this office is over the state of Maharashtra (except Mumbai Metro). The Offices of Bima Lokpal are at 17 Centres covering the whole country and are governed by the Insurance Ombudsman Rules, 2017.
Jain has 35 years of experience in public service in varying capacities.
Earlier he has worked for Central Vigilance Commission as Chief Vigilance Officer, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) at Mumbai from 2017 to 2021. Just prior to this assignment of Bima Lokpal, he has been working as Independent External Monitor on behalf of CVC in the PSUs under Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Power respectively.
Earlier he has worked as Chief Commercial Manager on Western Railway, Mumbai; Chief Passenger Traffic Manager on Central Railway, Mumbai. He also worked as the Chief Spokesperson for Central Railway at Mumbai.
He has attended many important domestic and overseas trainings at prestigious institutions like International Anti-Corruption Academy at Vienna, Austria; Indian School of Business, Hyderabad; SVP National Police Academy, Hyderabad etc.
