Swatantra Theatre wins seven awards at  61st Maharashtra Rajya Natya Spardha

Swatantra Theatre wins 7 Awards for its play ‘Sihar Uthi Thi Maut Yahan’ at the 61st Maharashtra Rajya Natya Spardha. While the play wins one of the best plays(3rd), bags 2nd in Best Direction- Abhijeet Swatantra , 1st in Set Design- Arun Jagtap, 1st in Makeup – Ayushi Annad while 3 Actors including our Founder- Creative Director Dhanashree Heblikar, Prem Gowda and Chezan Lawyer receive Best Actors. 

An official from Swatantra Theatre says, “Play is Produced by Yuwaraj Shah. We know that the magic of Vasant Kanetkar’s writing captivated the entire Maharashtra. He wrote as many as 14 plays like Raigadala Jevha Jaag Yete, Ihe Oshalla death, Prema Tujha Rang Kasa, Ashroonchi Zali Phule. 2022-2023 is his birth centenary year. In this special year, his play Sihar Uthi Thi Maut Yaha, a Hindi adaptation of Ithe Oshalala Mrutyu, won a total of 7 awards in the Hindi State Drama Competition organized by the Maharashtra State Cultural Directorate. This play is a dream for every Actor but the way it has been brought to life through the directors eyes, it is just mind blowing.
