Maharashtra Extends TET Deadline For Compassionate Ground Teachers To 5 Years
The Maharashtra State Examination Council had originally planned to conduct the Teaching Eligibility Test (TET) online as all the examinations conducted in the State and district were conducted online. However, the State Government has now ordered the council to conduct the examination offline. Consequently, the candidates appearing for the TET examination need to prepare for the same through the offline approach.
This decision has been taken due to the digital frauds associated with the online test and to ensure a more secure and transparent evaluation process of the entire examination.
There are a huge number of teacher vacancies in the state, making the TET examination more necessary. Moreover, it is said that with the decision of the exams getting conducted offline, there will be further delay in announcing the results of the examination.
A senior education official said, “Given the previous scams in the TET examination, it is feasible to release the results of this exam early by taking it online. Due to the offline exam, it will take a long time to announce the results. This will give time for interested students to study for the examination.”
The test is estimated to be conducted in April or May of 2024.
However, amidst this Unprecedented to conduct examinations offline, the candidates appearing for the examination are going to face challenges considering that they will have to prepare according to the examination conducted offline, increasing the stress of the candidates causing pressure.
