TERRE policy centre to organize Marathon for promoting environment conservation

Pune: In a unique move to promote environmental protection and sensitize people of all age groups, TERRE Policy Centre is conducting a marathon, ‘TERRE Envirothon 2023’ on June 4, 2023. The event will take place at Rural Police Ground, Pashan, Pune with the theme of ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dr Vinita Apte, Founder & Director, TERRE Policy Centre, said “Since last few years, we have been organizing small campaigns related to environment awareness & conservation. However, I wanted to upscale it this time with a purpose to increase participation of people to promote positive and impactful environmental change. It is not the kind of marathon wherein people with only healthy or athletic physique can participate. Any person who is an environment enthusiast can come forward, participate and promote environmental change through this marathon.”
TERRE Envirothon 2023 will start on June 4, 2023 at 5:15 am at Pune Rural Police Ground in Pashan, Pune. The marathon distances are 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km. Exciting prizes will be given to the 3 km and 5 km participants. An attractive cash prize will be given to participants in the 10 kms marathon.
