The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has announced plans for a crucial upgrade to the Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway, commonly known as the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. As part of the Highway Traffic Management System, the installation of a gantry is scheduled at kilometre 63.000 on the Pune channel.

Installation Schedule: The installation work is slated to take place on January 30, between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. This initiative aims to enhance the overall traffic management infrastructure along the expressway.

Temporary Closure: During the specified timeframe, all types of vehicles, including both light and heavy vehicles, heading towards Pune will experience a temporary closure on the expressway. The closure is necessary to facilitate the smooth installation of the gantry.

Alternative Routes: In anticipation of this temporary disruption, motorists are advised to consider alternative routes. Light vehicles traveling from Mumbai to Pune will be redirected from Kusgaon Toll Naka at kilometre 54.400 to Pune Channel on National Highway No. 48, utilizing the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway.

Minimizing Disruptions: The MSRDC emphasizes its commitment to minimizing disruptions for commuters during this essential upgrade. The suggested alternative routes are designed to ensure a smooth flow of traffic and reduce inconvenience for all road users.

Enhancing Traffic Management: The installation of the gantry on the Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway marks a significant step towards bolstering the Highway Traffic Management System, ultimately contributing to safer and more efficient travel on this key route between Mumbai and Pune.
