To ensure smooth and safe traffic movement, new traffic regulations have been introduced in Pune. Some of these are permanent, while others are temporary. The changes will impact areas under Bharati Vidyapeeth, Deccan, and Kondhwa traffic divisions.
Permanent No-Parking Zones
Under the Bharati Vidyapeeth traffic division, a no-parking zone has been declared on the service road from Kadam Plaza to Lake Town (Bibwewadi). This applies to both sides of the road from the wall near Ramnath Sweets to Green Park building (Pizza Hut side), covering a 176-meter stretch.
In the Deccan traffic division, the road from the entrance of Kamala Nehru Park to Sardesai Hospital in Sunrise Society Lane will be a no-parking zone on both sides.
Similarly, under the Kondhwa traffic division, the area from the main entrance of Tribeca High Street Society to the last ShopperShop store (300 meters) has been designated as a no-parking zone.
Temporary Traffic Changes
Under the Deccan traffic division, the road from the NCC Camp entrance on BMCC Road to the SSC Board office (opposite Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Training, and Human Development Institute) will be a temporary no-parking zone for a 20-meter stretch.
In Prabhat Road lanes:
- – Lane 1 (connecting Lane 2 & 3) will have P1-P2 parking only for two-wheelers between Prathamesh Society (south) and Amit Bosam Society (northwest).
- – Between Lakshmi Nivas and Green Park, P1-P2 parking will be for four-wheelers, except at society entrances.
- – Near Advocate Abhyankar Chowk, a 15-foot space has been allocated for four-wheeler parking.
Citizens can submit objections or suggestions in writing at the DCP Traffic Office, Yerwada, by February 20, 2025. Necessary amendments will be made before issuing the final orders, said DCP Amol Zende.
