Tragic Accident at Juhu: 20-Year-Old Drowns While Taking Photos with Friends
Despite rescue efforts, youth declared dead at Cooper Hospital
MUMBAI — A casual evening turned tragic on Saturday as Anil Arjun Rajput, a 20-year-old man, drowned off the Juhu Jetty in Juhu Koliwada while reportedly taking photographs with friends.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade received the distress call at 8:17 pm, after Rajput accidentally fell into the sea while posing for pictures. Lifeguards stationed at the site acted swiftly and managed to pull him out of the water.
He was immediately rushed to Cooper Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
The incident has once again raised concerns over safety measures and signage at popular waterfront locations, especially where young people often gather for leisure. Further investigation is underway.
