Tragic Highway Collision in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Father Dies, 13-Year-Old Daughter Injured

Shock and grief struck the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Pune Highway on Wednesday when a motorcyclist lost his life and his 13-year-old daughter sustained serious injuries in a catastrophic collision. The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Babusingh Sobaksingh Maher, a resident of Pendapur. His daughter, Anchal, who was riding as a passenger, is currently receiving treatment for multiple injuries at the hospital.
According to police reports, Babusingh and Anchal were traveling from Dhoregaon to Chalisgaon on his motorcycle (MH 20 BU 0541) to attend a family event. As they approached the Jikthan Phata stretch, a container truck (MH 20 CT 0843), reportedly speeding and coming from the opposite direction, collided with their motorcycle. The impact was severe, causing Babusingh to suffer fatal injuries. Witnesses reported that he collapsed immediately due to heavy bleeding and could not be revived. His daughter, traumatized by the accident and the sight of her critically injured father, fainted at the scene.
Local villagers acted quickly, alerting the police and helping transport both victims to the Government Medical College and Hospital. Doctors pronounced Babusingh dead on arrival, while Anchal remains under medical care.
