Pune: A tragic event occurred on Saturday, May 12 when a distressing incident unfolded involving a married couple, resulting in the brutal murder of the wife. The accused, a resident of Undri, was apprehended by the police for his involvement in the murder of his 27-year-old wife Sheetal Pandgale.

The incident took place on Saturday, and a case was officially filed at Kondhwa police station the following day.

According to the authorities, a heated argument between the couple escalated, leading to the victim experiencing seizures. Her family rushed her to Sassoon Hospital, but unfortunately, she was pronounced dead upon arrival by the attending doctor. As the investigators dug deeper into the case, they made a grim discovery—an array of assault wounds on the woman’s body.

The focus of the police swiftly shifted to the husband Somnath Pandgale (30) as medical professionals confirmed the assault. Consequently, the authorities promptly summoned him for questioning. During the investigation, it was revealed that the incident stemmed from a disagreement between the husband and wife. It all started when the wife unintentionally forgot to pack her husband’s tiffin box before he left for work. Although this may seem like a minor oversight, it triggered the accused’s anger, leading him to brutally attack his wife. Employing a wooden stick as his weapon, he mercilessly struck her head and legs, inflicting severe injuries.

API Lekhaji Shinde said, ” Accused killed his wife for not providing lunchbox. We have registered case against him and further investigation is going on.”

As the investigation progressed, the accused admitted to assaulting his wife. A case was registered against him at the Kondhwa police station under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
