In a distressing event, a railway employee lost his life due to the negligence of railway officials at Barauni Junction in Bihar on Saturday morning. The unfortunate occurrence was recorded on video, which is circulating on social media. The footage shows the worker being crushed between the locomotive and the carriage while he was attempting to uncouple them at the junction. Reports indicate that he was stuck in that position for approximately two hours before he died.

The incident reportedly took place at platform number 5 at Barauni Junction around 9 AM on Saturday. The railway worker, identified as Amar Kumar, 35, who lived in Dalsingsarai, Samastipur district, was attempting to uncouple the engine of the Lucknow-Barauni Express (Train No. 15204) that had just arrived at that platform. While passengers were getting off the train, Amar Kumar was in the process of uncoupling the engine when, due to a mistake, the driver reversed the train instead of moving it forward.

Amar Kumar was tragically crushed between the engine and the bogie, remaining trapped for approximately two hours. After the accident, the driver fled the scene as passengers alerted others about the incident. He did not even attempt to move the engine forward to help rescue Amar. It took the railway authorities two hours to shift the engine and recover the body of the railway worker.

The incident led to significant anger among the passengers and the family of the deceased. Other railway employees gathered at the location and started a protest against the negligence of the railway authorities. The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Sonpur also came to the scene and ordered an investigation into the matter.
