Trainer aircraft crash kills 2 pilots in Telangana

Pune: Two pilots were killed in an accident involving a trainer aircraft that took off from the Dundigal Air Force Academy (AFA) on Monday morning (December 4) near Toopran in the Medak district.

According to an IAF release, One Pilatus PC 7 Mk II trainer aircraft had an accident this morning while on a routine training sortie from AFA. According to IAF officials, there is one cadet and one instructor among the pilots, who suffered fatal injuries.

As per further information from the X handle of the Indian Air Force, “A Pilatus PC 7 Mk II aircraft met with an accident this morning during a routine training sortie from AFA, Hyderabad. It is with deep regret that the IAF confirms both pilots onboard the aircraft sustained fatal injuries. No damage to any civil life or property has been reported. A court of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.”
