Travelling Plants Exhibition Comes To Pune, Unveiling the Beauty of Plants, Open Till Nov 18
Pune, 13 November 2024: After its successful debut in Chennai and subsequent showcase in Kolkata, the Travelling Plants exhibition is now taking place in Pune which is being organized at Rupa Rahul Bajaj Centre for Environment & Arts (RRBCEA) – Empress Garden between 10th & 18th November 2024. The Exhibition is free and open to all from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This unique exhibition offers a vibrant array of engaging programs for all ages that celebrate the symbolic, aesthetic, and cultural importance of plants.
Curated by Lina Vincent, the exhibition marks the third stop in a unique transdisciplinary project led by the Goethe-Institut / MaxMueller Bhavan Pune. This exhibition features the works of five artists whose projects reflect their unique explorations of socio-cultural, ecological, and political dimensions of plant life. Their residency experiences inspired them to create artworks that investigate and reflect on a wide range of sociocultural, ecological, and political issues.
Through this exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to experience how art can inspire critical conversations about our world’s biodiversity and the role of plants in our lives, communities, and ecosystems.
The Travelling Plants project began in March 2024 with an artist residency at the Herbarium of the Institut Français de Pondichéry (IFP), where selected artists from diverse backgrounds explored the intersection of art, nature, and science.
