Mohamadwadi in Pune is blessed to have ample greenery and reserved forest in its vicinity. In order to plant more indigenous trees, the members of Nyati County Residents Forum had organised a tree plantation drive on Sunday, October 10.

The drive was led by members of Anandvan Mitra Mandal who guided them on which trees to plant and how to plant.

Deepa Cheema from Nyati County Residents Forum said, “We are blessed to have a green reserve forest around us. We thought of planting more indigenous trees around to attract more birds and also protect the reserve forest. We hope that more citizens join our endeavour and help us in making Mohamadwadi clean and green. If we all want to breathe clean air we must plant and nurture trees.”

The residents also pledged to clean and maintain the pond which is in the vicinity which will help the birds and animals to quench their thirst as wel as help us in maintaining the ground water table.
