Pune: Many services such as food delivery, cab services, and more will observe a mass bandh on October 25, 2023 (Wednesday) in Pune & Pimpri Chinchwad.

As per further information shared by Dr Keshav Kshirsagar, President, Baghtoy Rickshawala Association, Pune, on October 25, 2023, cab, rickshaw pullers and bike delivery boys and girls working on several mobile application run services like food delivery, cabs, etc in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad cities will observe a mass bandh.

As expected by the Social Security Code 2020 of the Central Government, as well as by the Government of Rajasthan, the Gig Workers Registration and Welfare Act should be passed in Maharashtra and the workers should be protected from the exploitation by these companies.

Also, the Cab Aggregator Act of the Government of Maharashtra should be passed at the earliest as per the order of the Supreme Court.

A one-day symbolic bandh will be called on October 25, 2023, to ensure that both laws are passed in the coming winter session.

The bandh is being planned by the Joint Action Committee of ‘Indian Gig Workers Front’.
