The National Testing Agency has once again extended the registration deadline for the UGC NET June 2026 examination. Candidates can now apply online till May 24, while the correction window will remain open from May 26 to May 28.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the last date for submitting applications for the UGC NET June 2026 examination, giving another opportunity to candidates who were unable to complete the registration process earlier. According to the latest update, candidates can now apply online till May 24, 2026, up to 11:50 pm.
The agency has clarified that this will be the final extension and no further time will be given after the revised deadline. Candidates have been advised not to wait till the last moment to avoid server-related issues during the application process.
The UGC NET examination is scheduled to be conducted between June 22 and June 30, 2026, across various examination centres in the country. The exam is held to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor posts, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and PhD admissions in Indian universities and colleges.
NTA has also announced the revised correction window dates for candidates who wish to make changes in their submitted application forms. As per the latest schedule, the correction facility will remain available from May 26 to May 28. Earlier, the correction dates had been scheduled between May 25 and May 27.
Candidates applying for the examination are required to pay the prescribed registration fee according to their category. The application fee for unreserved category candidates is ₹1,150, while OBC and EWS category candidates need to pay ₹600. Candidates belonging to SC, ST and other reserved categories are required to pay ₹325.
To apply for the examination, candidates must visit the official website and complete the online registration process. Applicants need to fill in personal and academic details carefully, upload scanned copies of required documents and complete fee payment before final submission.
