Residents of Undri and Mohamadwadi frequently face power cuts not only on the informed schedule by the Maharashtra State Electricity and Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) but mostly uninformed. The frequent power cut is not affecting the work from home schedule but also affecting majorly on the electrical appliances which are keeping them out of use.

Rohan Gaikwad, president, NIBM Prabhag, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena said, “The residents are struggling to work as the power supply remains affected due to many reasons. There are many reasons due to which the supply is affected, road digging work, rains, heavy wind, poor maintenance of electrical equipments, etc which were discussed in a recently held meeting with the senior officer at the Rasta Peth office of MSEDCL. The complaints made on the call center numbers are often neglected and left unattended. The consumers have to go through a lot of struggle. MSEDCL must take up the maintenance of their equipment and also attend promptly to the complaints made by the consumers.”

Residents also complained that the power cut is so frequent that in an hour there is no electricity for over ten to fifteen minutes.

Dhaval Sawant, executive engineer, MSEDCL official said, “The delegation of residents along with MNS party activist Rohan Gaikwad had come to me requesting help in completing the road work. I have assured them of all help in resolving the issue. As far as the fluctuation of power in Undri and Mohamadwadi, even that has been discussed and soon that shall also be resolved. We have recently had a meeting with the Transmission department of MSEDCL and we have jointly decided to take action over the frequent power cut issue and resolve it.”
