Undri residents demand removal of unauthorised construction at Kad Nagar

Residents of Undri, Mohammadwadi have written a letter to the Pune Municipal Corporation stating to remove the unauthorised construction made at various places in Kad nagar.

A resident from Kad Nagar on the condition of anonymity said, “The Pune Municipal Corporation asphalted a road from Kad nagar to Upper Crest society road near Ber mal few months ago. But immediately after this the private lands around the area saw some unauthorised shops, hoardings which are not only causing chaos and traffic congestion but also defacing area. We have written several times to the PMC but there has been no improvement in it. “

When Pune Pulse spoke to Prasad Katkar, assistant commissioner, Hadapsar ward office said, “I have received the letter and soon action will be taken against any unauthorised construction. Instructions would be given to the sky sign department to conduct a check on such properties in the area.”

A resident of Nyati Eternity phase 4 said, “I had written to the PMC about three months ago but there has been no response from them yet. The letter was sent to all concerned departments but since then there has been no action yet. We are hoping that PMC gives us some relief and emoves all illegal structures. Kad nagar chowk is a nightmare.”

For the past few months, since the administrator has taken over at Pune Municipal Corporation there have been action on illegal encroachments as well as hoardings. Areas such as Undri, Pisoli, Mohammadwadi are filled with such unauthorised construction and hoardings which has been neglected by the civic body. There is absence of such action in Undri and Mohamadwadi, pointed residents.
