The Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, has called upon IITs and IIMs to broaden their scope and adopt multi-disciplinary approaches.

This aligns with the National Education Policy, 2020, which emphasizes the significance of multi-disciplinary education.

At the inauguration of the Odisha Research Centre, Pradhan underlined that IITs and IIMs will align themselves with this vision. The center, which was inaugurated by Raghubar Das and Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, will focus on research areas including art, culture, archaeology, sociology, politics, agriculture, commerce, technology, and healthcare.

Minister Pradhan also highlighted the potential applications of technology in various sectors and emphasized the center’s role in advancing Odisha’s progress and language during significant upcoming milestones.

In collaboration with several organizations, the center aims to develop distinct epistemological structures to explore various aspects of Odisha’s history, culture, economy, and society.
