Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Lays Foundation Stone for Two National Highway Projects in Pune

Pune , 21 September: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, laid the foundation stone for two major National Highway projects in Pune, Maharashtra, aimed at enhancing connectivity and reducing congestion.
The projects include the four-laning of a 13 km stretch from Dive Ghat to Hadapsar on the Mohol-Alandi section of NH-965 and the construction of major bridges on the Mula-Mutha River along with service roads from Sinhagad Road to Warje on the Pune-Satara section of NH-48.
Speaking at the inauguration event, Gadkari emphasized the significance of these projects in improving connectivity between Pune, Satara, and Solapur. “The widening and upgradation of the Hadapsar to Dive Ghat section of NH-965 will play a major role in reducing congestion and ensuring a safe and pleasant journey for devotees during the Palkhi Yatra,” he said.
The projects are expected to benefit nearly 9-10 lakh Warkaris who take part in the Palkhi Yatra procession. Additionally, the stretches will facilitate faster travel, alleviate traffic congestion, and boost local economies.
Gadkari also announced upcoming projects, including an elevated corridor in Nashik Phata Khed section of NH60, worth Rs. 7500 Cr, and the Ravet to Narhe elevated corridor, worth Rs. 5000 Cr, set to begin in December 2024.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, and Minister of Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Dada Patil attended the inauguration event.
