Urja – Yuva Sangeet Mahotsav to be organized in Pune on Jan 22

Pune, January 16: With the aim of providing a platform to young musicians, Pune-based Avartan Gurukul, Neel Dixit in association with Kannada Sangha, Kaveri Kalakshetra has organized a musical program called ‘Urja’- Yuva Sangeet Mahotsav on Sunday, January 22 at Shakuntala Jagannath Shetty Auditorium, Karnatak High School, Ganesh Nagar, Erandwane, Pune. The program will be held in two sessions of which one will be from morning 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM and the other from evening 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The event will be free of cost and will be based on a first-come-first-serve basis.

In the first session, Kathak Dancers- Shraddha Mukhade and Shreya Kulkarni, disciples of Guru Shama Bhate will present their performance.  It will be followed by a performance on a Tabla by Hemant Joshi, Disciple of Guru Pt Ramdas Palsule.

The second session will start with the performance by Dr Shantanu Gokhale on santoor, disciple of Padma Vibhushan Guru Pt Shivkumar Sharma.  The program will conclude with the performance of vocalist Gandhar Deshpande son and disciple of Guru Pt Dr Ram Deshpande. The musicians will be accompanied by Amey Deshpande, Ajinkya Joshi, Shriraj Tamhankar, Ameera Patankar, Yashwant Tthitte, Amey Bichu and Shubham Khandalkar.

The event will be compeered by Mangesh Waghmare.
