Newlyweds Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have announced a scholarship initiative for underprivileged students in Telangana shortly after their wedding. The couple, who tied the knot in a traditional South Indian ceremony in Udaipur on February 26, 2026, revealed the decision during a visit to Vijay’s native village, Thummanapeta.
On Monday, Vijay, accompanied by Rashmika, visited his hometown where they performed a Griha Pravesh ceremony and Satyanarayana Vratam Puja at their new residence. A large number of villagers gathered to greet the actor, and during his interaction with the locals, Vijay officially announced the launch of the ‘Virosh Scholarship’ under the Deverakonda Charitable Trust.
Support For Government School Students
The scholarship will initially benefit meritorious and needy students from Class IX and X studying in 44 government schools in the Achampet Division of Telangana. According to available details, the scheme will focus on students securing the top three ranks in their respective schools.
Vijay stated that this initiative is only the beginning and expressed his intention to expand the scholarship programme to cover the entire Nagarkurnool district and eventually the whole state of Telangana.
Emotional Moment At Village Event
Rashmika Mandanna, Vijay’s brother Anand Deverakonda and their mother Madhavi Deverakonda were present at the event. When Vijay made the announcement, his mother was seen getting emotional, while Rashmika applauded the initiative.

The couple’s wedding festivities have been widely discussed across the country.
