A large sum of money has been found in the desk drawer of an employee of the Pune Municipal Corporation. However, the employee claimed that the money was not his. After that, the employee disappeared with a bundle of currency notes after AAP workers went to complain to the senior officials. This has created a stir. Meanwhile, the whole thing has been caught on video.

As per further information from the X handle “These bundles of notes came out from the drawer of the deputy engineer’s desk in the Pune municipal corporation. These officials are saying that the contractor had given the money to keep. AAP has revealed this. This is the tip of the iceberg.”

AAP Party worker Hrishikesh Kanavte said “Yesterday, we went to the PMC Engineer Amar Shinde regarding a complaint of digging in Baner as the concerned engineer wasn’t giving proper answers regarding the work. However, when we went to the PMC, we got to know that Amar Shinde is busy in a meeting. So, we were waiting for 10 minutes. Then, a person came out of Amar Shinde’s cabin & gave a bundle to a concerned official. When we enquired about the bundle, we got to know that there was cash of Rs 2-3 lakhs. When we asked the official about the money, he said that the contractor had told me to keep the money safe. The money is not mine. When we met Amar Shinde & told him about this, he said that he doesn’t know anything about this. He will enquire about this & let us know. Then, we met the Chief Engineer of the Road Department Aniruddha Pawaskar. Even he said that he doesn’t know anything about this. He has assured us swift investigation & action about the matter. We request the PMC to check the video, interrogate the concerned official & if he is found guilty, take strict action & dismiss him.”

Netizens have actively commented on this.

An X user says “Such sting operations must be conducted everyday & the concerned employees must be fired, so they will realize what they have done. All works will also be expedited. Such people earn around Rs 50-60k, still own 4 to 5 flats. How is it even possible to have such amenities in this much salary?”

Another X user tweets “A government job is a money-mine because here everyone from the constable to the boss eats money and even if they are caught taking bribes, they know that everything will be cleared in six months or a year. This will continue until the laws in this regard are not tightened.”

Another X user comments “This is how it works. Do a check on all the properties of officers, you will know where the water is flowing. It is impossible to get justice here. The whole system is corrupt. If you go to the government office for justice, you will get random answers. No matter how many laws are made, these loopholes are made and the status quo remains.”

Another X user tweeted “What era are you living in? Honestly, employees in government offices were only till the 1970s-80s. Since then, how can the employees, who have barely two and a half room houses while joining the job, manage to get 2-3 bungalows, flats, cars and properties by the time they retire?”.
