In a significant development, the Kondhwa police acted on intelligence from the Military Intelligence of the Southern Command, leading to the apprehension of former military personnel involved in a scam. Vinayak Tukaram Kadale, a retired Accountant-Civil Service from Lashkar’s Command Hospital, had been misleading youths with promises of army jobs in exchange for hefty sums of money.

The arrest, which occurred in Lullanagar, saw Kadale and his wife, Deepali Vinayak Kadale, charged under sections 420 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. The FIR was filed on January 22, based on a complaint by Anisha Sahil Khan, aged 52, residing in Kondhwa Budruk.

Kadale targeted complainant Anisha Khan, convincing her of job opportunities at the Command Hospital and demanding Rs.3,00,000 for the promised position. Reportedly, eight individuals paid a total of Rs.13.5 lakh between March 2021 and September 2023. As complaints surfaced due to unfulfilled promises, Khan began demanding the return of her money.

The investigation revealed that Kadale changed his residence after the case was registered, prompting a joint effort by the Kondhwa police and the Military Intelligence. The operation carried out on March 3, resulted in the successful apprehension of the accused.

The Kondhwa police, under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Santosh Sonavane and Police Inspector (Crime) Manasingh Patil, commendably executed the operation. The arrest raises concerns about potential additional criminal activities related to the scam that may surface as the investigation progresses.
