Virat Kohli Makes History: First Indian to Score 12,000 T20 Runs

Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has added another feather to his cap, becoming the first Indian cricketer to amass 12,000 runs in the T20 format. Kohli reached this impressive milestone during the IPL 2024 opening match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

The historic moment came in the seventh over of the CSK vs RCB match, as Kohli expertly guided a delivery from Ravindra Jadeja for a single, marking his 12,000th run in T20 cricket.

During his T20 career, Virat Kohli has proven his batting prowess by accumulating an impressive number of eight centuries and 91 fifties. His dominance in the IPL is unparalleled as he holds the record for the highest runs in the tournament’s history. Kohli has scored 7,284 runs in 239 matches, which includes seven centuries and 50 fifties. He continues to set new benchmarks in the league.

In addition to his milestone of 12,000 runs, Kohli also reached another landmark in the match against CSK by completing 1,000 runs against the franchise. With 1,006 runs in 32 matches, Kohli’s stellar performances against CSK further underline his batting prowess.
