Following India’s 0-2 ODI series defeat against Sri Lanka, Kohli joined his wife Anushka Sharma and their two children in London. His performance in the series wasn’t up to his usual standards, as he struggled to score big on challenging pitches, registering low scores of 24, 14, and 20. Due to his heavy schedule, Kohli was also excluded from the Duleep Trophy squads, with BCCI Secretary Jay Shah emphasizing that the board didn’t want to risk injury to key players like Kohli and Rohit Sharma, given the upcoming red-ball season.
