Pimpri-Chinchwad, July 19: Wakad Police have arrested four members of a notorious burglary gang, including the prime accused, and solved five housebreaking cases. During the operation, police recovered 97.85 grams of stolen gold jewellery worth ₹10,34,100 from the accused.

The investigation began after a burglary at a locked flat near Utkarsh Chowk in Wakad, where burglars broke the door lock and stole gold jewellery and cash worth ₹7.20 lakh.

To crack the case, Wakad Police examined footage from nearly 100 to 150 CCTV cameras installed across the area. Based on technical analysis and confidential intelligence, police traced and arrested the main accused, Atul alias Aatya Chandrakant Amle.

During interrogation, Amle revealed the identities of three accomplices. Acting on the information, police conducted coordinated raids and arrested all three from different locations.

The arrests led to the detection of five burglary cases, with stolen gold jewellery worth ₹10.34 lakh recovered from the accused. Police are continuing their investigation to determine whether the gang was involved in any additional property crimes.
