Wakad residents meet corporator Rahul Kalate to discuss impending issues

Wakad: The residents of Wakad’s housing societies had a meeting with the Corporator Rahul Kalate and the traffic police regarding various civic issues.

Residents complained to Rahul Kalate about the traffic issues, encroachments, signals not working at chowks, narrow roads, etc. 

Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate‘s Traffic department officer PSI Nitin Ambore assured the residents of finding solutions to their traffic problems. He said apart from ensuring that all signals work, he would also increase the traffic wardens at the signals to ensure smooth flow of the traffic. 

The major issue discussed in the meeting was regarding the road work going on in various places. The residents were told by the authority that different agencies are involved while a repair work is on, so the delay. 

Rahul Kalate, Former Corporator from Wakad said, “Residents of Wakad had raised concerns on various issues. We discussed the encroachment issue and have also told them regarding the delay in work of the road that is happening due to the changing and installing new pipelines of electricity, MNGL, drainage, etc. I am hoping that PCMC completes the work soon.”

The authorities assured the residents to start an anti-encroachment drive and also make a P1-P2 parking system which will make the road less crowded. The roads which are under construction will be opened up to divert the traffic.  

“It was a fruitful meeting. We discussed various issues in the meeting and the officer present assured us to solve the problems,” said Harshad Deshmukh, a resident of Wakad.
