Wall collapses of society in Balaji Nagar due to heavy rain damages car ; No casualties
Damage to four-wheeler due to heavy rain due to collapse of boundary wall of Sadguru Society (next to drain) near Ram Mandir, Balaji Nagar on 10th November (Friday).
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Pradeep Khedekar, PMC Fire Officer, said “At around 6 pm, this wall collapse incident occurred in Balaji Nagar area. The wall which collapsed was between the residential society & the nala (drain). Due to heavy rain, the wall collapsed from one side. A car was parked near the wall which was completely overturned & damaged.”
As per further information shared by Khedekar, the society is located at such a place where sending a crane or any other help easily isn’t possible. The fire officers had to park their vehicle to go to the spot to help. Some locals stated that cranes etc can come to the society through the nala (drain), however the society is far from the nala. Hence, the fire officers have to wait till morning for the rainwater to reduce so they can send help.
The wall collapsed around 30 feet. No casualties or injuries have happened. Only the car is overturned & damaged which will be cleared soon.
