This morning, a tragic event took place on the Mohol to Pandharpur route in the Solapur district. A truck crashed through the barricades at the toll plaza on this route. In an effort to stop the truck, the toll booth employees were struck. Unfortunately, one of the employees lost their life in this incident.
The Penur toll plaza, situated on the Mohol to Pandharpur pilgrimage route, witnessed this incident around 5 AM. Hanumant Ankush Mane, a toll booth employee, was the victim of this tragedy. Vehicles traveling from Mohol to Pandharpur are required to pay a toll at this plaza. This morning, when a goods transport truck arrived, the driver failed to stop and paid the toll, instead breaking through the barricades.

While trying to stop the truck driver for not paying, Hanumant Mane ran after him. However, the driver sped up, hitting several people in the process. Tragically, Hanumant Mane was struck and fell beneath the truck’s wheels, resulting in his death. The truck driver fled the scene without stopping, and the Mohol police are currently searching for him. This shocking incident was captured on CCTV cameras. A case has been registered against the unknown truck driver.
Pune, also experienced another tragic hit-and-run incident in Kothrud today. A young woman, Aarti Suresh Manwane (23), was killed instantly when a dumper truck struck her while she was crossing the road around 11:15 am. The truck’s wheel passed over her head, leading to her immediate death. Aarti was from Amravati district and lived at Erande Hostel in Bhelke Nagar, Kothrud. Eyewitnesses reported that she was crossing the road via the divider when the mixer dumper approached and crushed her. The driver fled the scene after the incident.
