Videos circulating on social media depict the extent of the havoc, with cars stranded on waterlogged roads and debris scattered due to strong winds.

Dubai Airport, among the world’s busiest airports, has been forced to suspend operations as the runway is submerged under knee-deep water. Flights have been diverted, and travelers are urged to stay updated on flight schedules.

The situation is dire not only in Dubai but also in neighboring Oman, where heavy rains have resulted in casualties and damage. Authorities in Dubai have issued warnings, advising residents to avoid beaches and stay indoors due to expected rain, gusty winds, and the risk of flooding.

With queues of cars forming on flooded streets and more rainfall predicted in the coming days, residents are facing challenges in commuting and navigating the waterlogged city. 

Despite forecasts indicating moderate to light rainfall ahead, the aftermath of the current deluge underscores the vulnerability of urban infrastructure to extreme weather events.
