Ludhiana: A century-old, three-story building in Bandeya Mohalla near Chawal Bazaar collapsed on Tuesday afternoon, injuring a 27-year-old woman and her 2-year-old daughter. The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. and was captured on CCTV, showing the mother, identified as Khushi, attempting to shield her child from the falling debris. While she sustained head and arm injuries, she successfully protected her daughter.
The collapse sent shockwaves through the nearby community, as residents reported cracks developing in several adjacent homes prior to the incident. Fire brigade personnel responded promptly, rescuing three individuals trapped inside the building, while three others standing nearby narrowly escaped the disaster.
