Maharashtra | January 9: Cold conditions have intensified once again across Maharashtra, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a weather alert for the next 24 hours. A cold wave-like situation is prevailing in several regions, and fluctuations in temperature are expected to continue over the coming days.
According to the IMD, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada are experiencing a sharper drop in temperatures, while North Maharashtra has recorded a significant fall in minimum temperatures. In contrast, the Konkan region continues to record relatively higher temperatures. The IMD has forecast mainly clear skies over Konkan. Mumbai is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 32°C and a minimum of 18°C. While mornings and nights will feel cooler, the weather during the day is likely to remain dry and clear.
In Western Maharashtra, cold conditions will be felt especially during early morning hours. Pune city may experience dense fog in the morning, which could persist through parts of the day. The city’s maximum temperature is likely to be around 30°C, while the minimum may drop to 10°C.
Marathwada will witness cold mornings followed by mostly clear skies. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is expected to record a maximum temperature of 30°C and a minimum of 13°C, with similar conditions likely in other districts of the region.

In Vidarbha, cold conditions continue unabated. Nagpur is expected to record a maximum temperature of 29°C and a minimum of 10°C. Several districts have reported minimum temperatures hovering around the 10-degree mark, intensifying the chill.

Citizens are advised to wear warm clothing and take necessary health precautions.
