Pimpri, January 9, 2026: Eligible voters participating in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) general elections will be required to present their photo voter identity card at the polling booth to cast their vote. In case a voter does not possess a photo voter ID card, they will be allowed to vote by producing any one of the 12 alternative identity documents approved by the State Election Commission, as per its order dated July 14, 2025, according to information shared by the civic election department.

Polling for the PCMC general elections will be held on January 15, 2026, from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm. Voters must establish their identity at the polling station by presenting a photo voter identity card. However, voters who do not have a photo voter ID will be required to submit any one of the 12 valid identity proofs specified by the State Election Commission for verification, officials said.

List of 12 Alternative Identity Proofs Accepted if Voter ID Is Not Available:

  2. Aadhaar Card
  3. Driving Licence
  4. PAN Card issued by the Income Tax Department
  5. Photo identity cards issued to employees by the Central Government, State Government, public sector undertakings, or local self-government bodies
  6. Passbook with photograph issued by nationalised banks or post offices
  7. Disability certificate with photograph issued by a competent authority
  8. Photo identity card issued under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA Job Card)
  9. Pension-related documents with photograph for retired employees or their widows/dependents (such as passbook or certificate)
  10. Official photo identity cards issued to members by the Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha Secretariat or the Legislative Assembly/Legislative Council Secretariat
  11. Photo identity card of freedom fighters
  12. Photo health insurance card issued under schemes of the Union Ministry of Labour
