Maharashtra Weather Update: Cold weather conditions have intensified across Maharashtra, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing an alert for a sharp drop in temperatures on Tuesday. Several parts of the state are experiencing severe cold, with Niphad in Nashik district recording the lowest temperature of 5 degrees Celsius, the coldest in Maharashtra so far.

Favourable weather conditions for cold waves have led to a steady fall in temperatures across North Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha. The chill is expected to continue on December 23, with minimum temperatures remaining low across all regions.

In Mumbai, temperatures have also started dipping. On December 23, the maximum temperature is likely to be around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may fall to 14 degrees Celsius. Foggy conditions are expected during the day. Similar weather is likely in the Konkan region.

Cold conditions have intensified in Marathwada as well. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is expected to record a maximum of 29 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 9 degrees Celsius, with morning fog and clear skies later in the day.

In North Maharashtra, temperatures have fallen sharply. Nashik may see a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 7 degrees Celsius, with foggy conditions likely throughout the day. Ahilyanagar has recorded 7 degrees Celsius, while Jalgaon temperatures have dropped below 10 degrees Celsius.

Vidarbha is also under cold conditions. Nagpur may record a maximum of 29 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 9 degrees Celsius, with mostly clear skies. Morning cold and warmer afternoons are being reported across the region. Low temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius have been recorded in parts of Gondia and Nagpur.

With temperatures continuing to fall across Maharashtra, citizens are advised to take precautions. People are urged to wear warm clothing, avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure during extreme cold, and take special care of senior citizens and children.
