Maharashtra, October 31, 2025 — The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for 13 districts in Maharashtra, warning of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds on Friday. 

Rainfall activity is expected to continue across various parts of the state, including Konkan, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha regions.

Over the past few days, unseasonal rainfall has already caused significant damage to crops in several regions. The IMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall on October 31 across multiple districts.

Rain Forecast by Region:

  • Konkan and Mumbai Region:
    Districts including Palghar and Raigad are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. 
  • A yellow alert has been issued for both districts. Thane, Mumbai, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg may also see light to moderate showers.

  • Western Maharashtra:
    Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, and Solapur districts are expected to receive light rainfall. The IMD has noted the possibility of moderate rain along the ghats of Pune, Kolhapur, and Satara.
  • Marathwada:
    Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is likely to witness light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning, prompting a yellow alert. Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur, and Dharashiv may also see light to moderate rain.

  • North Maharashtra:
    Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, and Nashik districts — particularly the Nashik ghat areas — are expected to experience thunderstorms with lightning and moderate rainfall. A yellow alert is in effect for these regions.
  • Vidarbha:
    While Akola, Buldhana, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal districts are not expected to receive rain, Amravati, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, and Nagpur may experience thunderstorms and rainfall, leading to yellow alerts in these districts.

The IMD has urged residents to stay alert to changing weather conditions and take precautions to safeguard their health and agricultural produce, as fluctuating temperatures and humidity could lead to health concerns.
