Weather Alert Maharashtra For December 4: Next 24 Hours Crucial as Weather Changes Again, IMD Issues Fresh Update
Maharashtra: After the recent spell of rain, the state is now gearing up for a cold wave as temperatures begin to drop steadily. Over the past few days, early mornings and evenings have turned noticeably cooler, signaling the arrival of winter.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures across most parts of Maharashtra are expected to fall further on November 10.
The IMD has predicted clear skies and dry weather conditions across Konkan, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha regions. Districts including Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg are likely to experience warm but dry conditions, prompting officials to advise citizens to take necessary precautions.
In Mumbai, the maximum temperature may touch 34°C, while the minimum could drop to 18°C. Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, and the ghat regions are also expected to experience clear and dry weather. Pune, one of Western Maharashtra’s key cities, may record a maximum temperature of 31°C and a minimum of 14°C.
In Marathwada, including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur, and Dharashiv, the weather will remain cold and dry. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is expected to feel the chill more intensely, with temperatures dropping to 11°C.
Northern Maharashtra districts such as Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, and Ahilyanagar will also experience clear skies with a noticeable nip in the air. In Nagpur, a major Vidarbha city, the maximum temperature is forecast at 28°C, while the minimum may fall to 14°C.
Across the state, daytime heat may persist, but nights and early mornings will bring increased cold. Authorities have urged citizens to take precautions against the chill, while the Agriculture Department has advised farmers to protect tur (pigeon pea) crops from potential cold damage.
