Weather Update! Major Threat Looms Over Maharashtra: Red Alert Issued for Next Four Days by Meteorological Department
Heavy rainfall expected across the state due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Maharashtra, predicting heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over the next two to three days due to a low-pressure system forming over the Bay of Bengal. The IMD warns that the state is likely to experience torrential downpours in several regions over the next 24 hours.
The weather department reports that many parts of Maharashtra are already experiencing heavy rainfall, and the intensity is expected to increase in the coming days. The forecast indicates that the state will continue to face this deluge for the next four days, particularly affecting northern Maharashtra and certain districts in Vidarbha, where the rains could range from heavy to extremely heavy.
In Mumbai, cloudy skies and moderate rainfall are expected over the next 24 hours. The city’s temperature is predicted to hover around 32°C for the maximum and 25°C for the minimum. Meanwhile, heavy rain warnings have also been issued for the Konkan region, with predictions of intense showers in several districts.
Vidarbha is forecasted to bear the brunt of the rain over the next three days, with the IMD stating that the downpour will persist across the region. Similarly, Marathwada has also been warned of severe weather, with forecasts of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds.
In addition to the heavy rainfall, the IMD has also cautioned the state about thunderstorms and lightning, signaling a dual threat that Maharashtra will face over the next three days.
