Weather update : Pune city and district receives only 66 percent of rainfall this monsoon

Pune: The city and district of Pune have received a total of 528.6 mm of rainfall thus far this monsoon season, which amounts to only 65.7 per cent of the annual average rainfall for the district.
As per the information received, in comparison, by this date last year, the city and district had received 1,013.8 mm of rainfall. The annual average rainfall for Pune district is 969.7 mm, and only two talukas in the district, Maval and Ambegaon, have received more rainfall than their respective annual averages thus far this monsoon season.
Additionally, the talukas of Bhor, Velhe, and Khed have received rainfall levels that are close to their annual averages. The District Superintendent Agriculture Officer’s office records daily rainfall data from June 1 each year and publishes reports on taluka-wise rainfall, month-wise total average rainfall, and actual rainfall compared to the total average rainfall every night.
Pune City has received a total of 316.1 mm of rainfall thus far this monsoon season, which is only 56.8 percent of the total average rainfall for the city until September 19. Last year, the city received a total of 720.5 mm (129.4 per cent) of rainfall by this date during the monsoon season.
