The effects of the pre-monsoon rains have diminished in the city and surrounding area, but the sun’s heat is beginning to rise once more. For the past three days, the city’s highest temperature has been steadily climbing and has been recorded at 37.5°C. The Meteorological Department has forecasted that the maximum temperature will hover around 40°C over the next three days as the clouds clear.

On Saturday (11) and Sunday (12), the city received a lot of rain. As a result, the city’s maximum temperature—which had previously exceeded 40°C—dropped to 31°C. For the previous two to three days, the rainfall had provided some respite to the city’s residents, however, the temperature rose once again. Lohegaon observed 36.8°C, while Shivaji Nagar recorded a maximum temperature of 37.5°C.

In the city and surrounding area, the sky will be primarily clear until Thursday 16 at noon, at which point it will cloud over. According to the meteorological department, there may be a chance of thunder and light rain. On Thursday(16) post noon, Friday (17), and Saturday (18), Pune will see a maximum temperature increase to 39°C, and on Sunday (19) the temperature will reach 40°C.
