Pune: According to recent research, eating nuts for breakfast instead of eggs may help protect you against several deadly illnesses, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease. As breakfast is the most important meal for a healthy body, choosing what to eat in the mornings is very important. Nevertheless, several other studies advise against eliminating eggs.
The study, which was published in the journal BMC Medicine, found that replacing one egg a day with 25 to 28 grams of nuts could lower the risk of heart disease by 17%, diabetes by 18%, and early death by 15%. The study does not advise cutting out eggs entirely from one’s diet.
The study published in BMC Medicine also emphasizes the use of equivalent amounts of legumes, lentils, chickpeas or beans as a substitute for processed meat, which is more harmful than any other meat. The replacement can reduce the risk of heart disease-related death or development by 23%.
The co-author of the study says that many people have an egg or fry-up for breakfast to start their day, but these analysis findings indicate it might be preferable to substitute plant-based foods for these. While there was little evidence to support substituting dairy, there is evidence that people could benefit from eating more plant-based foods in place of poultry.
