A woman and her companion have alleged harassment by a man who claimed to be a BJP worker aboard the Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express, an incident that has sparked controversy. According to the woman, the altercation began when she and her brother were trying to leave their cabin to get food, only to be stopped by an older man who asserted that they were in a BJP-designated cabin and were not allowed to leave. Despite explaining their intentions, the man allegedly insisted they stay put and prevented them from exiting.

The woman recounted that after eventually leaving to get food, they were confronted again upon their return, leading to a heated exchange. The man allegedly pushed them and questioned why they were moving in and out of the cabin. The male passenger accompanying the woman shared a video of the altercation, questioning the behavior of the self-identified BJP worker, saying, “Can a BJP worker misbehave like this towards a female?”

In response to the allegations, Indian Railways issued a statement explaining that the Railway Protection Force (RPF) had asked the passengers to file a written complaint and provide video evidence so that appropriate legal action could be taken. However, the passengers reportedly left the train at the next station without submitting a complaint or sharing the video with authorities.

The woman expressed concern about the impact this behavior could have on the BJP’s reputation, noting that both she and her brother are affiliated with the party and were invited as influencers. She criticized the actions of those claiming to be BJP workers, stating that they acted as though they owned the train and sought to control others’ movements within the cabin.

The incident has drawn criticism from Congress, which shared the video on social media and pointed to the behavior as indicative of the BJP’s character. The video of the altercation has since gone viral, fueling discussions on social media and sparking a debate over the conduct of political workers.
