ZTCC Pune Achieves Milestone With Highest Deceased Organ Donations In 2024
The Zonal Transplant Coordination Centre (ZTCC) in Pune has reached a remarkable milestone, recording 70 deceased organ donations in 2024, surpassing the previous record of 63 donations set in 2018 and 2019. Since its establishment in 2004, the center has facilitated a total of 557 donations, saving 1,355 lives.
Government Hospitals Lead by Example:Â
In a significant development, government hospitals played a pivotal role in this achievement. Seven donations were facilitated through public healthcare facilities, with one donation from Sassoon General Hospital and six from Command Hospital. This reflects the increasing awareness and commitment within the public sector towards supporting organ donation.

A standout feature of 2024 has been the involvement of professionals from various industries who have pledged their organs:

– Medical Field
– Doctors
– Aviation Industry
– Pilots.

20 Years of Impact and Innovation:Â
Since its inception, ZTCC Pune has pioneered initiatives like the **Green Corridor**, enabling the rapid transportation of organs, saving countless lives. The center has successfully facilitated 175 Green Corridors till the end of 2024.
