10 kids injured in generator blast during Durga idol immersion in Mahabaleshwar

Pune: During the Durga Idol immersion procession in Koli Ali in Mahabaleshwar, a huge explosion occurred due to the loose fuel pipe of the generator seriously injuring 10 children.

The injured were immediately rushed to a rural hospital in Mahabaleshwar and later to Satara. Some of the children were shifted to Pune for further treatment as their condition was serious.

As per information, while the immersion procession was passing through the main route, the generator’s petrol pipe leaked and the generator caught fire. Ten children between the ages of four to seven, who were sitting near the idol of Durga Devi, suffered burn injuries. All the injured were admitted to a rural hospital in Mahabaleshwar.

After receiving first aid, all the injured children have been shifted to a private hospital in Satara for further treatment. The condition of some children is critical, they have been shifted to Pune for further treatment. Currently, the condition of these children is stable.

Upon getting information about this incident, MLA Makarand Patil left the Dussehra program and rushed to the hospital in Satara. Provincial Magistrate Rajendra Kumar Jadhav also contacted the hospital in Satara after getting information about the incident. Tehsildar Tejaswini Patil got information from the doctor of the rural hospital.

Former corporator Santosh Shinde is with the injured children. MLA Makarand Patil discussed with the doctor about the incident and shifted them to Pune for further treatment.
