14 Police Superintendents Promoted Across Maharashtra; Pankaj Deshmukh from Pune, Mokshada Patil Among IPS Officers Elevated
Mumbai/Pune Police Promotions Update – In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Maharashtra government has promoted 14 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers currently serving as Superintendents of Police (SP) to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG). The promotions have been effected under the provisions of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951, and formal orders were issued with the signature of State Secretary Venkatesh Bhat.
Key Promotions in Mumbai and Pune
- Pankaj Deshmukh, who served as the SP of Pune Rural, has been promoted and appointed as Additional Commissioner of Police, Pune City.
- Dhananjay Kulkarni, SP of Ratnagiri, has been elevated to the post of Additional Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, Mumbai.
- Vikram Deshmane, SP of Nashik Rural, has been posted as Additional Commissioner of Police, Central Region, Mumbai.
- IPS Mokshada Patil, who was the Commandant of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), has been promoted to the DIG rank.
These promotions are part of the “Selection List 2025” prepared for the DIG cadre, and all transfers and postings have been approved by the competent authority as per the legal provisions.
