Pune: 16 well-known Pune-based businessmen are included in the list of the top 200 ‘Self-made entrepreneurs’ for 2023. These 200 highly valuable Indian companies were established after the year 2000.

FirstCry, an online store selling baby care products, has become Pune’s most valuable company, ranking 34th out of all Indian businesses.

AgroStar, Clean Science and Technology, XpressBees, Indigo Paints, ElasticRun, Lentra, and OneCard are among the other companies on the list.

Of these, Lentra is valued at Rs 3,327 crore, and Clean Science and Technology is valued at Rs 14,986 crore.

Lentra is the newest company on the list, having been founded in 2018. In 2000, Indigo Paints was established.

OneCard is a credit card and financial services platform that is digital first, whereas Lentra provides an AI-based loan management system.

Clean Science produces specialty chemicals, while Indigo Paints is a stock exchange-listed paint manufacturer.

AgroStar is an online marketplace for agricultural supplies, and

XpressBees and ElasticRun are transportation companies.

·         OneCard – Rupesh Kumar, Anurag Sinha & Vibhav Hathi

·         XpressBees – Amitava Saha

·         Indigo Paints – Hemant Jalan

·         AgroStar – Shardul Sheth, Sitanshu Sheth

·         Lentra – Ankur Handa, D Venkatesh, Rangarajan Vasudevan

A senior official of a Pune-based company said that some of the most recognizable family companies in India are located in Pune. The fact that Pune is also home to tech, clean tech, and modern manufacturing companies is extremely encouraging.

With 129 entrepreneurs on the list, Bengaluru has taken the top spot. Mumbai, Gurugram, New Delhi, and Chennai are next.

Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Noida are ranked after Pune.

The accomplishments of the self-made Indian business owners who run these companies are highlighted in the list.

Instead of indicating the founders’ personal wealth, the rankings are based on the value of the businesses they founded.
