Cochin, December 5, 2024: Over 160 passengers of flight IX-2417, scheduled to depart for Pune at 2:00 PM and land at 7:00 PM, have been stranded at Cochin International Airport since this afternoon. Flyers expressed frustration, alleging that they were left without food, water, or proper arrangements during the long delay.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, several passengers described their plight as “helpless” and “stressful.” “We have been waiting here for hours with no clarity on when we will board or even why the delay occurred. No refreshments or support have been provided despite repeated requests,” said one of the stranded travelers.

The lack of communication and basic facilities has further aggravated the situation, with families, including children and elderly passengers, facing immense discomfort.

Efforts to reach airline representatives for a statement on the delay and inadequate provisions have so far been unsuccessful. Passengers are urging authorities to intervene and resolve the issue promptly.

When Pune Pulse contacted Pune MP and minister of state for civil aviation and cooperation Murlidhar Mohol’s office they informed the technical glitch in the flight was being resolved and the flight should take off soon.

As of now, there is no update on when the flight will depart, leaving the stranded travelers anxious and fatigued.
