On January 22, a shocking incident took place as 2 Mahavitaran workers were beaten up near Akashwani Colony in Shivaji Nagar.

As per information, a criminal case has been registered against the accused, identified as Rajesh Tusam, for beating up two employees of Mahavitaran while they were repairing an underground power line that was broken during the digging work of Pune Metro near Akashwani Colony in Shivaji Nagar. The incident took place on Monday (22nd January) around 7:30 PM.

Road digging for the metro railway is going on in the Ganeshkhind area. In this digging work, a high-pressure underground power line of Mahavitaran near Akashvani Colony was broken. Due to this, the power supply in the Antaral society, Akashvani Colony area was disturbed. Hence, Pramod Wakode and Sagar Rai of Mahavitaran’s Modibaug branch office, under the Ganeshkhind sub-division, were repairing the broken power line.

In the meantime, Rajesh Tusam, out of anger that the electricity supply was interrupted, abused both of them and thrashed them with a bamboo stick. The injured employees were given medical treatment at Aundh Hospital.

Hence, an FIR has been filed with Chatuhshrungi Police under Sections 353, 332, 504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation into the matter is going on.
