2466 cusecs water to be discharged from Khadakwasla dam

Pune Municipal Corporation has issued an alert to the citizens living near the riverside that incessant rains in the Khadakwasla dam area has increased the level of the dam and hence water shall be discharged from it soon. On July 22, 2021 till 3 pm the dam level at Khadakwasla dam increased till 1909.40 feet (581.99mm). Hence, discharge of 2466 cusecs will be done by 4,30 pm today. The disharge might be increased if heavy rains continue in the dam area in the evening.


Also, rains in Mulshi region since morning 7 to evening 4 today, has increased the dam level. 315 mm rains have been recorded in Davadi area of Tamhini ghat today. In the last 8-9 hours of heavy rains, the dam has recorded an increase in its level by 1.47 TMC. At 4 pm in Mulshi dam area was 598.98 meters, while storage is 45.42 percent. The situation is under control said Basavraj Munnoli, Dam incharge, Tata Power.
