32 wards, 64 locations, 64,397 kgs waste and 73,370 citizens participated in Ploggathon held by PCMC
Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation on November 21, 2021 held its Ploggathon drive. Over 73,730 citizens participated in the drive held at 64 locations and collected 64,397 kgs from 32 wards.
The drive was held during 7 am to 10 am. Mayor Usha Dhore appreciated the overwhelming response given by the citizens. The plastic waste which was collected during the drive shall be utilised in making different artefacts, demonstration of which was kept at the collection centers. Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Rajesh Patil was present at various locations in Pimple Saudagar and Thergaon. Waste was picked up from Swaraj chowk to Datta Mandir and Sai chowk to Sangvi police chowky.
Several NGO’s, film actors, senior citizens forums, Mandai association, vendor association, sports personalities, AG-BVG organisation, residential societies, Self Help Groups, Hotel association, environment activists, auto unions, Ganesh mandals participated in large numbers. At Pimple Saudagar, Rajesh Patil, commissioner, PCMC, local Corporator Shatrughan Kate was present alongwith residents and PCMC staff.
